Midi file hacker is a program that lets you search your hard drive for MIDI files and extracts the relavent data (note, velocity, time) then saving the data to a txt file. This achieves a massive amount of coherent and related data for use in visualisation or sonification projects.
This program was used in my work Data sonic visual 2006.
